RecipeMe

Turn this week’s recipes into one shopping list.

Pick recipes and choose how many people each one feeds. RecipeMe adds every ingredient up into a single list sorted by aisle, converting units as it goes, so 750 g and 0.5 kg of potatoes become 1.25 kg.

Try it: change the servings, add a recipe, or tick things off.

What happens to the ingredients

The same ingredient becomes one line
Recipes name things differently. RecipeMe drops the “for the sauce” part and plurals before matching.
Sugar + Sugar for the Sauce becomes Sugar
Units convert before they add up
Grams and kilograms, millilitres and litres, teaspoons and tablespoons. Different kinds of unit stay as separate amounts.
2 tsp + 1 tsp becomes 1 tbsp
Counts round up to what you can buy
Three servings of a recipe that uses half a lemon for two still means buying a whole lemon.
¾ lemon becomes 1 lemon
Any number of servings from 1 to 8
Amounts scale from the closest size the recipe comes in, preferring one that divides exactly.
6 servings becomes 3-serving recipe × 2
Sorted the way you walk the shop
Fruit & Veg, Meat & Fish, Dairy & Eggs, Bakery, Herbs & Spices, then the cupboard.
Eggs becomes Dairy & Eggs
Cupboard staples kept apart
Oil, salt and anything else the recipe expects you to have go in a separate list to check before you shop.
Olive Oil becomes Check your cupboard
